1. RICHARD SEELEY SHUTE was born in March 27, 1833 near Bridgeton, New Jersey. He later moved to Philadelphia and was married to Ruth Ann Robbins on June 18, 1855 at the residence of Mr. Robbins’ by Richard Newton, the Rector of St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Ruth Ann Robbins was the daughter of Samuel James Robbins and Hannah Moser and was born in Philadelphia on March 27, 1831. (Samuel James Robbins was the son of John Robbins and Elizabeth James). Richard Shute served in Company H of the 121^st Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded in the arm and captured at Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. He was held as a prisoner at Camp Libby and paroled at City Point, VA on August 2, 1863. He also participated in the siege of Richmond, VA and contracted a hernia while tearing up the Weldon Rail Road near Petersburg, VA on August 18, 1864. Captain Richard Shute was honorably discharged from the Army on June 2, 1865 at Washington, D.C. After the war Richard resumed working as a carpenter. Ruth Ann Shute died on April 25, 1897 and is buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia. Richard Shute died on September 19, 1908 in the Veterans Hospital in Norristown, PA. He is buried in the Philadelphia National Cemetery (Grave 164 – Officer Section).

2. FRANCES (FANNY) WAREHAM SHUTE (RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born on September 25, 1856 in Philadelphia. Frances Wareham Shute was named after her mother's sister Frances (She married Robert Wareham).   Fanny Wareham shute died on Sept 3, 1871 in Philadelphia, PA.

3. CHARLES FITHIAN SHUTE (RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born on March 15, 1858 in Philadelphia. He was married to Susanna Kleintop, daughter of David Kleintop and Emeline Klein of Towamensing Township, Carbon County, PA. She was born on March 30, 1861. They were married on June 20, 1882 at Penn Haven Junction. Charles and Susanna Shute died on February 10, 1920 and April 27, 1920, respectively. They had 9 children. The information on this family is from the Charles Shute Family Bible. Charles and Susanna are buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery along with two of their children, Frank and Ruth. 4. GEORGE NUGENT SHUTE (RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born on December 10, 1859 in Philadelphia. No farther information.

5. SAMUEL JAMES ROBBINS SHUTE (RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born on June 8, 1861 in Philadelphia.   Samuel J. R. Shute moved to Denver, Colorado area by 1893.  He married Amelia A. Kingman (widow of ? Kingman) around 1892 and is enumarated in the 1900 Arapahoe County, CO Census with Amelia and their son (Nugent) and her three children from her previous marriage (Harry, King and Ethel M. Kingman).  Sometime prior to 1920, Amelia Shute died and Samuel J. R. Shute moved to Sheridan County, Wyoming (not sure of the sequence yet).  He died on November 1, 1938 in Sheridan, WY and is buried in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

6. CORA WILKINSON  SHUTE (RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born on January 27, 1863 in Philadelphia. She was married   Harry Hollinshead of Philadelphia on August 12, 1896 in Philadelphia. He was born on January 22, 1871

13. LEON WILSON³ SHUTE (CHARLES FITHIAN², RICHARD SEELEY¹) was born September 27, 1890 in Philadelphia, PA, and died May 04, 1948 in Phila PA (Forest Hills Cemetary). He married MARGARET MAY BESCH September 15, 1915 in Philadelphia PA, daughter of Franklin Besch and Mary Hartzell. They had 4 Children.
