Brick Patios

Brick offers a centuries old classic look that has proven it can pass the test of time.  Paving brick is installed over a compacted base of modified and screened stone with many available patterns and styles.  Brick can be formed in a mold or wire cut during it formation for very different looks.  You can find more information on various types of brick on the Glen-Gery web site.
Specializing in small to medium patios (100 to 1000 sq. ft.)  Patios and walks are blended into existing grade, with a minimum of disturbance to surrounding lawns and gardens, and the proper pitch  (approximately 1½% to 2% grade) set to appear level and still drain water away from the house.   Dimex edging can be used below grade to restrain edges of the brick.  Flagstone or pressured treated ties can also be used as a border.   Basketweave, herring bone, running bond, or other patterns can be used.  Please view some examples of our brick patios below.
All patios shown were constructed by Robert J. Kleinberg Landscape Design and Construction.  He is an ICPI Certified Concrete Paver Installer and a NCMA Certified Segmental Retaining Wall Installer.  He is also an EP Henry Authorized Hardscaping Contractor, and has been designing and constructing patios, and gardens in Philadelphia, Montgomery County ( Lower Merion, Bala Cynwyd, Ardmore, Narberth ), Delaware County ( Havertown, Marple, Drexel Hill, Lansdowne, Springfield, Swarthmore, Ridley, Media, Upper Darby, Newtown Square, Radnor ), and the Main Line ( Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Gladyne, Wynnewood ) PA as a Landscape and Hardscaping contractor since 1986.

This was our first patio job; constructed behind the cafeteria at Presbyterian Hospital in 1986 with wire cut paving bricks.  We also installed landscaping for privacy along the side of the patio.

Small Backyard Landscape & Patio - Lansdowne, PA

Cypress (wire cut) Paving Brick using a herringbone pattern and bordered with flagstone to tie patio together with informal walk, and help restrain the brick.  Landscaping was also installed around the patio.  Raised bed against the garage was installed for a vegetable garden.
